Removing the grille is very easy and quick. Do not hesitate to remove it when working on the engine and its peripherals. It will be much more convenient.

The original grille (GFK2258) and mustache (AB606021) mounting screws have a diameter of 2.8 and 3.3 mm. Unfortunately, after multiple removals and reassemblies of the grille, the mounting holes in the body panels eventually widen. To compensate for the increased diameter of the mounting holes, larger diameter screws are available (AB608031, GFK2256, and GFK2262).

Black screws (CDU1266) are also available for black grilles.

Remove the grille
Op 01
Open the bonnet.
Op 02
Remove the 2 side parts of the grille surround (the mustaches). There are 4 screws on each mustache. Use a Phillips screwdriver.
Op 03
Remove the 8 grille mounting screws. Use a Phillips screwdriver.
Op 04
Remove the grille. Pull by hand.

Once the grille is removed, access to the engine compartment is much better.

Reinstall the grille
Op 05
Fit the grille and its 8 screws (GFK2258).
Fit the 2 grille mustaches and their 4+4 screws (AB606021). Use a Phillips screwdriver.
Op 06
Close the bonnet.
